Acupuncture is a modality of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that involves the insertion of sterile filiform needles into the body at various points along pathways known as meridians.
Specific points and meridians treated depends upon your condition, which is diagnosed by your acupuncturist via intake, pulse diagnosis, tongue diagnosis, and palpation.

Acupuncture can also be performed without needles, often called non-invasive or non-insertive acupuncture.
These treatments may incorporate the use of teishin (a blunt, metal, non-insertive needle) and contact needling (a needle is touched to the skin but not inserted) alongside acupressure and Tui Na massage techniques. Read more about non-invasive treatments here.

Moxibustion involves the burning of the dried, ground herb mugwort (moxa) on or above the body at select acupuncture points.
This warming therapy encourages blood flow, boosts energy, aids with digestion, and alleviates pain. At Genki, we also offer Breech Moxibustion for pregnant patients.
